Central England, July 2017: Tyrone Courtman, partner at PKF Cooper Parry, has been appointed to chair the insolvency and restructuring special interest group at the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales’ (ICAEW)
The ICAEW is the largest insolvency regulator in the UK, offering chartered accountants and non-members the opportunity to qualify and be licensed as insolvency practitioners. The special interest group was established in 2012 to provide guidance, support, representation and promotion of people within the profession.
Tyrone is a successor of Angela Swarbrick, a former restructuring partner at EY, who has stepped down from the role due to retirement from professional practice. Mr Courtman is also a deputy president of Leicestershire and Northamptonshire Society of Chartered Accountants and a member of the board of trustees for TMA Global and a board member of TMA Europe. As chairman, Mr Courtman will provide strategic direction for the group’s activities, including organising its annual national restructuring conference, that is attended by more than 150 members. He said: “By listening to the group’s 1,400 members on the issues and challenges they face, I will work tirelessly to ensure their best interests are being represented and to promote the best of the important work they do.”
